Happy 4th of July! Farbod celebrates the 4th by diving headfirst into the SEC and ranking all 16 SEC head coaches entering the 2026 season. While Kirby Smart remains the undisputed gold standard at Georgia, the battle for the top tier is up for debate. Would you put Sark, Kiffin, or DeBoer at 2? Does DeBoer even deserve top 5 consideration?
From there, we unpack the rest of the conference hierarchy. We look at Mike Elko’s quick 2-year rise at Texas A&M, Brent Venables getting Oklahoma back into the mix, and which coaches are sitting on the hot seat under the SEC’s new nine-game conference schedule.

Welcome to Episode 84! Today we tackle a monumental rule change that will fundamentally alter roster management in college football. The NCAA has officially axed the traditional redshirt and waiver systems in favor of a clean "5 seasons in 5 years" calendar window. We unpack the new 19th-birthday trigger designed to stop players from exploiting age gaps, and explain how this aggressive policy change is explicitly engineered to prevent future court injunctions like the one that granted Trinidad Chambliss a 6th year at Ole Miss.
From there, we dive into a bizarre summer recruiting cycle that sees half of college football's elite out of the national top 10. We analyze the current frontrunners like Texas Tech, Miami, Texas A&M, and Notre Dame, and project which powerhouse programs are guaranteed to claw their way back before National Signing Day.
To close out the show, we spotlight three overlooked programs heading into July with immense urgency, breaking down the physical trench identities forming under Tosh Lupoi at Cal, the thin patience of the administration behind Luke Fickell at Wisconsin, and Will Stein's rapid offensive transformation at Kentucky.

Welcome to Episode 83! We start with the stunning conclusion to the Brendan Sorsby saga. After winning a brief temporary injunction, the Texas Tech quarterback has dropped his lawsuit against the NCAA and declared for the NFL Supplemental Draft following an intense legal countersuit from the Big 12. We break down how this unprecedented pressure campaign unfolded and what Sorsby's sudden departure will do to the NFL, CFB, and Texas Tech. Also should Cincinnati be punished?
Then, we dive into the "Protect College Sports Act," the bipartisan Senate bill aiming to overhaul everything from NIL caps and transfer portal restrictions to medical protections and midseason coaching moves. We outline the biggest takeaways from the legislation and project what the sport looks like by 2030. To wrap things up, we react to Josh Pate's latest comments on USC. With the pressure mounting in Southern California, we discuss why Year 5 has become an absolute line in the sand for Lincoln Riley.

Farbod and Jace are officially in the "season of life." Despite bachelor parties, weddings, and honeymoons taking over the schedule, Flagged for Discussion is still in your feed! To hold you over until they are back live, this special "Best Of" edition features three heavy-hitting moments from the show, breaking down the biggest structural shifts, mismatches, and elite talent in college football:
The Curt Cignetti Contract: We break down Cignetti's massive new $13.2 million-a-year extension at Indiana following his national title run. Why do athletic directors constantly bid against themselves? Jace explains why needy ADs look exactly like insecure Survivor contestants checking in on their alliances a little too much.
The 2026 WR Room Hierarchy: Passing game explosive plays are the ultimate mismatch in college football. We debate Brad Crawford’s Top 10 WR rooms, arguing whether Texas (Cam Coleman + Ryan Wingo) or Ohio State (Jeremiah Smith) takes the crown, why Clemson at number three is "all talk," and Farbod’s hot take on Oregon’s true alpha target.
Championship Milestones: Would you sacrifice a strike, if it means your team won it all this year?
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. We’ll be back soon to react live to everything across the college football landscape!

On this episode, we tackle the massive legal earthquake rocking college football. A Texas judge just issued a stunning temporary injunction restoring Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby’s eligibility for the 2026 season, completely bypassing the NCAA’s strict penalties for sports gambling. Sorsby, who admitted to wagering on sports, including on his own team while at Indiana, will serve a 2 game suspension before making his debut in the Red Raiders' Big 12 opener against Houston. We dive deep into the furious backlash from the NCAA, question whether the organization has any enforcement teeth left, and ask the ultimate question: is it finally time for player collective bargaining?
After navigating the legal chaos, we pivot to our happy place to keep our sanity intact and head into the week on a high note. Farbod tasks Jace with a high-stakes game of "Keep 3, Cut 3." He forces Jace to make impossible choices across college football's most iconic landscapes…from legendary head coaches and 2010s QBs to insane stadium vibes, traditions like the Iowa Wave, and the most dangerous preseason hype trains of 2026.

The offseason trash talk has officially reached a boiling point, and the "SEC girlies" are back at it again. We kick off Episode 81 by diving headfirst into a war of words from the SEC Spring Meetings, where Steve Sarkisian took aim at Texas Tech…Sark claimed his 2s and 3s could go undefeated against a certain Big 12 program's schedule and it didn't take long for Texas Tech's Joey McGuire to call his bluff and counter by publicly challenging the Longhorns to a Week 1 matchup.
The drama doesn’t stop in Texas, though. Brand new Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding fired right back at Sark’s "basket weaving" academic jabs and then had some puzzling words regarding tampering. We finish by discussing the apparent SEC “regret” of moving to a 9-game conference schedule.

Welcome to a special retrospective edition of Flagged For Discussion. With the guys taking some well-deserved time out on the road, we are using the opportunity to look back at the architectural blueprints of three traditional powerhouses that underwent massive structural facelifts. Roster construction, staff alignments, and booster expectations completely shifted over the winter, and today we bundle our sharpest, most tactical on-air segments analyzing the systemic changes happening inside these three programs.
PENN STATE: We kick things off by replaying our analysis of Matt Campbell’s schematic and cultural transition to Happy Valley. We discuss whether or not this was the “right” move for Penn State, and if it was the right move for Campbell himself. Also, we reflect of Pat Kraft’s saga of drama during this coaching carousel, as well as if they should have even fired James Franklin in the first place or not.
LSU: Next, we dive back into our deep dive on Lane Kiffin’s offensive philosophy colliding with the most talent-rich recruiting base in the country. We take a look at the weeks leading up to this hire, its impact on LSU - as well as it’s impact on Ole Miss.
MICHIGAN: We wrap things up breakdown of Kyle Whittingham taking the reins of the Michigan Wolverines. Is this just a bridge hire, or is this a hire that will elevate the Michigan program? We also conduct a full Sheronne Moore era autopsy as Michigan prepares to roll out their 2026 team.

Episode 80 takes a deep look into the structural shifts and heated rivalries going on in college football today. We kick things off in the SEC, where the offseason trash talk is already boiling over as Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian trade barbs and send some serious shade toward Ole Miss. Then, we pivot to the news out of Lincoln, where Matt Rhule has locked in a $5M deal for his "House Rhules" podcast. Is this the blueprint for the modern coach to engage donors and fans directly, or a dangerous distraction?
Finally, we break down Joel Klatt’s definitive post-spring Top 12 team question marks. From Dan Lanning’s hurdle with big games at Oregon to whether Marcel Reed will be the reason Texas A&M wins...or loses...the biggest games on their schedule, we analyze who actually has the roster to win a national championship.

Welcome into Flagged for Discussion, Episode 79! We are diving straight into the chaos as the coaching drama continues to spin in the most bizarre ways. First, we break down Dabo Swinney’s recent verbal attacks at Notre Dame. Dabo is swinging at the Irish’s "money machine," but after a 7-6 season with nine players drafted, is he just deflecting from a crumbling dynasty at Clemson? We look at the stats since the transfer portal rules shifted in 2021 and ask: Is Dabo tarnishing his legacy, or is he the last honest man in a sport that’s passed him by?
Then, things get personal as Jace gives Farbod a $17 budget to build a 2027 National Championship roster. From elite HCs like Mike Elko to young guns like Julian Sayin and Arch Manning, Farbod has to "ball on a budget" to construct a winner. We debate the best value picks, is $4 too much for Indiana’s defense, or is Curt Cignetti the ultimate bargain at the top?
Finally, we wrap up with a look at the "Fresh Air" movement and some massive scheduling news. We react to Gio Lopez’s candid comments about life under Bill Belichick at UNC and why Wake Forest finally feels like football again. Plus, we discuss the reports that Notre Dame and USC are in active talks to revive their historic rivalry series. Should the Irish move the game earlier in the season to appease the Big Ten, or does the 12-team playoff change the math on "strength of schedule" forever?
